In the field of advanced electronic technologies, the Institutes cooperates with may research institutes both in Poland and abroad. This cooperation involves the implementation of many international projects. The involvement of the Institute in international research related, among others, to green technologies in electronics, enabled the implementation of the technology for lead-free soldering of electronic products in Poland.
Interdisciplinary research addresses, among other things:
- technologies for the miniaturisation of electronic devices and micro assembly which enable, among other things, the integration of electronic components inside the printed circuit board;
- the process of electronic assembly of semi-conductor structures with lead-free connections in lead soldering conditions;
- the application of soldering pastes with different melting points in the multi-stage process of electronic assembly;
- materials and techniques for screen and jet printing;
- assessment of the impact of technologies and products on the environment: eco-design, life cycle analysis (LCA).
